About Us
Sierra Access Coalition (SAC) is a non-profit group, consisting of local businesses, user groups, and individuals working primarily on the Plumas NF, Lassen NF, and other areas in northeast California. Our staff are 100% unpaid volunteers.
SAC is concerned with the Travel Management Plan, which closed 873 miles of roads and trails on the Plumas NF, proposes closure of an additional 722 miles of roads, and is proposing closures for snowmobiles. We are working to protect public access to our National Forests.
For more information, go to our Travel Management Plan page.
SAC represents nearly 1500 members who access the forest for many uses including woodcutting, hunting, fishing, hiking, recreation, exploring, riding motorcycles and quads, rockhounding, and numerous other uses. We are sensitive to environmental concerns and we promote responsible use of our public lands. SAC is working closely with the USFS in an effort to keep as many routes as possible open for public use.
